Rooney fully backed by Football Association (Mian Shakeel Aslam)

Mian Shakeel Aslam---Football Association's Director of Communications Adrian Bevington has promised to do everything possible to ensure that Wayne Rooney is available in the UK as soon as possible at Euro 2012.

Rooney will definitely miss the tournament after the sending off in 2-2 win Friday against Montenegro to a suspension.

However, UEFA will not decide until Thursday if he increase his automatic one-game ban.

Some reports suggest let Rooney wrote a letter to apply to UEFA that his sentence is not extended, while Bevington, said he worked hard behind the scenes to seek mercy.

And Bevington said the FA was prepared to appeal if the attacker is a little more than a match ban is given.

"We are still waiting to be discussed at the UEFA group, what is the phrase," Bevington told Sky Sports News.

Older reply

"We worked very hard behind the scenes to ensure we are ready in any way we can help Wayne.

"If it leads to an appeal, or further proof that we put forward to support him to contest, we do not know that he was off sent for a red card, but it is very important for us as an organization that we and try to take care of all our players.

"And I would be on the record, saying Wayne did incredibly well behaved after the game.

"He was very apologetic and I felt that he is very mature.

"We will do everything we can to try to make sure that Wayne is available to us as quickly as possible to the final."

Sanctions

UEFA will study images of the incident and note the submission received from the FA, Capello Fabio or Rooney.

"There are many possible sanctions from a warning to a ban on heavy fine and three games," said a Uefa spokesman.

"The disciplinary chamber, based on the report of the arbitrator makes a decision.

"It happens very often, but depends on the situation and also to the players in the past, when a first red card or not."
