Court cleared Amanda of the killing charges (Mian Shakeel Aslam)

Mian Shakeel Aslam---The decision in a courtroom full of tension, a jury on Monday approved the Italian Amanda Knox on murder and other charges, almost four years after he was arrested on suspicion of killing his roommate in this picturesque Italian university town.


There was an explosion heard in the courtroom as the verdict was read, then an explosion of emotions, prompting the judge to ask for silence. Knox himself was nearly hysterical, according to CNN's Matthew chances and had to be helped from the courtroom by two people.

The jury evidently believed Knox last passionate declaration of the court, delivered in a voice trembling with emotion.

"I am what I am saying -... perverse, violent ... I did not kill, I was not raped, I did not steal," Knox said the most important speech of his life. His co accused Raffaele Sollecito, was also deprived of participation in the death of Meredith Kercher in 2007, a British exchange student roommate, and Knox in Perugia.

"We are thankful that the nightmare is over Amanda," Knox's sister, Deanna, said on the steps of the courthouse, obtaining approval from the crowd roar. "She had four years for a crime that did not commit."

Deanna Knox thanked his lawyers and sisters "People who took the time to research the case and could see that Amanda and Raffaele are innocent," Knox family to support.

The same jury, however, upheld the conviction Knox on charges of defamation against Patrick Lumumba, suspected at the beginning of the case. She blamed the club owner Lumumba killing Kercher.

Lumumba was arrested but released after his alibi checked. Later, Knox said, won the € 40,000 ($ 54,000) in damages. Knox was sentenced Monday to three years on charges of defamation, but won the award for the years spent behind bars, says his lawyer, Carlo Dalla Vedova.

"We are pleased by the court," Dalla Vedova told CNN. "We expected that a correction of this error."

He said that Knox is ready to return home, but said he would return to Italy.
"It's always confirmed that Meredith was a friend," he said.
Since the verdict was read in court, his family grew emotional Kercher.

"We respect the decision of the judges, but we do not understand how it could be the first court decision to cancel so radically," said Kerchers In a statement issued after a journalist close to the family, return to their hotel on Monday. "I still trust the Italian judicial system, and I hope the truth comes out."
Some of those gathered outside were dissatisfied with the decision, shouting "Shame Shame!"

Among those in court with several universities in the age of Italians and Americans, including two young men, who the Italian told CNN that he disagrees with the decision and believes Knox and Sollecito is guilty. One of them, Frederico Finale, 18, is a student Kercher attended the same high school. Finally he said, studying international communication.
